Book Review: "The Great Eight: How to be Happy (Even When You Have Every Reason To Be Miserable)" by Scott Hamilton and Ken Baker

“The Great Eight” is essentially a guidebook to finding happiness, but it is more than that. Not only is it a self-help book, it is also a memoir and a Christian Living book. Figure skating star, Scott Hamilton, includes personal anecdotes to illustrate his eight steps to happiness. The common thread weaving these principles together is the importance of faith.
I found this book to be very inspirational and informative. As a long-time fan of Scott Hamilton, I enjoyed the behind-the-scenes look into the skating world. I learned a lot about Scott’s life after his “retirement” from professional skating in 2002. His story is very inspiring because despite the numerous medical and professional obstacles in his life, Scott found every reason to be happy. Scott is an awesome example of someone with patience, perseverance, and a positive attitude!
I was fortunate to receive my copy of this book from Thomas Nelson publisher as part of the Book Review Blogger program (http://brb.thomasnelson.com). I would definitely recommend this book to others!
