Our October Book Club pick, House Rules, is an internationally selling book. As is true with most books released in other countries, the cover design and title were changed. Today I wanted to compare the book covers of House Rules (US) and Daddy's Rules (Britain). Which cover do you prefer?

I like the one on the right. I prefer the color. The child's face is much clearer to see.
Viewing the covers like a shopper walking into a bookstore, I would be most inclined to purchase the book based on the cover on the left. As a huge fan of all things women's lit, it would appeal to my tastes immediately.
I agree with K.L.--the cover on the left is more appealing to me. I also like that the U.S. cover has "Memoir" on it--that tells me information about the book even before looking at the synopsis on the back. I prefer the "House Rules" title as well. Which title do you like?
From a marketing perspective, House Rules ..well, RULES!
When you look at the cover, I see woman's story being told. The head to head action indicates a close bond. The title indicates trouble within the household...you just don't know what kind of trouble until you head the story. And you pick the book up the book on the shelf to find out more...
About the title...Well after reading the book. Daddy's Rules doesn't do it justice. It tells that one side of the story and I believe the author's dilemma was more than just about her dad.
No doubt the cover on the left is the winner. You see two girls who seem to be facing something together. Even though the house rules are Daddy's rules, Mommy doesn't try to change them.
