Most of us have known at least one incredible woman in our lives. She is the one with an unlimited supply of inner strength and determination that gets her through the most impossible of times. In The Spirit of a Woman you will read about twenty-three of such remarkable women.

Each story in this collection is written by a woman who faced a life-changing moment, relied on her inner fortitude, and survived. From the 10 year old little girl that dreams of saving the world to the woman faced with her husband's death, these essays are unique and diverse. Some of the themes explored in this anthology include creating your own destiny, seeing the gift in a challenge, making choices, and experiencing divine intervention.

The title of this book says it all! It’s true that stories passed down from generation to generation can empower and inspire, teaching us many valuable lessons. As author Gladys Taylor McGarey said of The Spirit of a Woman, “This book, by telling stories of individual women, helps all of us to see past the circumstances in our lives which seem to be roadblocks. We find, as we relate to each other, resilience within our own spirit which adds life and color to our lives."

I enjoyed reading this book. It truly brought a smile to my face and left me feeling more positive than I had been before picking up the book. I would recommend this to readers who want to be uplifted and those who enjoy inspirational short stories.

The Spirit of a Woman would make a wonderful gift for that special woman in your life.
